Seven Celtic Nations Concert a Success
March 5, 2022 – The Seven Celtic Nations Concert, a long-awaited show of Celtic songs, grouped together 8 local Celtic Musicians for a March 5th Concert at The Anchor Coffee House, at Groome Church in Lewes. The show was a total success and truly was standing room only. Over 130 people attended the concert featuring the music of Wales, Ireland, Scotland, Galicia, Brittany, Cornwall, and The Isle of Man. For over 2 full hours, plus an intermission, the band members Mike Messitt (guitar, bousouki, mandolin, vocals), Lorraine Messitt (bass, vocals), Jason Filasky (guitar, vocals), Andy Dowell (flute, vocals), Sherry Massey (Cajon, Percussion), Steve & Ali Quillen (Fiddle,Guitar,Vocals), and John Beachamp (Banjo, sound)…supplied an educational and entertaining concert for the community of Lewes. Individually, the songs were performed by each musician, which encouraged audience participation in the Groome sanctuary, one of the best sounding rooms available in town. They recorded the concert, and were asked to do a similar format, during the Celtic “holidays” next year in March. Everyone Agrees! Slainte!
